BEEP!

Scan. Pay. Go

A smooth self-checkout depends on well-trained employees. Anyone who masters the Scan and Go process accompanies customers safely and confidently. With the 30-minute blueprint, your team will quickly be ready for BEEP! Scan and Go, practical and tailored to your cash register system.

Preparation: Material and space for a compact start (5 minutes)

Provide training materials. A short guide as a PDF with a simple flow chart supports orientation, and a step-by-step video of 2 to 3 minutes supplements the theory. Use a small meeting room or a fenced shop area. One tablet or smartphone per group is sufficient for practical exercise. Ensure stable WiFi access.

Theory: Communicate process and system understanding (10 minutes)

Scan and Go principle

Customers scan product barcodes in the app and make mobile payments using Apple Pay, Google Pay or credit card. The receipt is automatically stored in the system and is available digitally.

Integration into the cash register system

Data reconciliation takes place in real time. Prices, deposits and inventories remain consistent, and discount and loyalty programs continue to run unchanged. In practice, this means that the existing rules apply to your cash register and customers retain familiar benefits.

Age control and safety

Age-restricted items are automatically recognized. The manual ID check takes place on site, and you complete the approval with a QR code. As a result, the process remains fast and legally compliant.

Practical exercise in the app with clear distribution of roles (10 minutes)

Activate demo mode and use a practice account with test products. Each participant scans three items one after the other and goes through the checkout, including a receipt display, in test mode. Train typical fault patterns. If a scan is not recognized, participants realign the barcode.

Rollout preparation with checklist and FAQ secure everyday life (5 minutes)

Hand over a quick checklist. The position of the scan zone is determined, barcode signs are checked, the WLAN coverage is tested. Discuss common questions What to do if the checkout is canceled. How do we support customers without smartphones. Who is the first point of contact in technical cases?

Follow-up, feedback and next steps anchor the routine (5 minutes)

Start a compact feedback session with three questions about understanding, process security and suggestions for improvement. Integrate knowledge transfer within the team through a weekly exchange of five minutes. Provide the access link to the video tutorial in the employee chat. Name an internal super user and keep in touch with the technical contact at BEEP!.

Roles in everyday market life: app ambassadors and troubleshooters

App ambassadors greet new users, explain how to scan directly on the shelf and help with the initial payment process. Troublemakers provide support in case of incorrect scans, answer questions about the process and carry out age checks with QR Code approval. This clear division of tasks promotes acceptance and ensures a smooth process in the store.
